Terms of Service — HireMap

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using HireMap (“Service”), operated by HireMap (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of HireMap, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are using HireMap on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Account Terms

To access certain features of HireMap, you must register for an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate, complete, and current registration information.
Maintain the security of your password and promptly notify us of any unauthorised access.
Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Not share your account credentials with any third party.
Not create more than one account per person without our express permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe have been compromised or used in violation of these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use HireMap only for lawful purposes. You must not:

Use the Service to transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or offensive.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access or interact with the Service.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service.
Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our express written permission.
Upload content that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights.
Interfere with the proper working of the Service or place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by HireMap and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Our trademarks, logo, and service marks may not be used without our prior written permission.

You retain ownership of all content you create and upload to HireMap (your CVs, cover letters, experience vault entries, etc.). By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process it solely to provide the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it to train AI models or share it with third parties without your consent.

5. Subscription and Billing

HireMap offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. For Pro subscribers:

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance.
You may cancel at any time; your access will continue until the end of the current billing period.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
Refunds are provided at our discretion and in accordance with applicable consumer law.

6. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion option in settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, with or without notice. We will not be liable for any loss resulting from termination of your account in accordance with these Terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HireMap and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes come into effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
